Hubert Keith Cops, a resident of Sulphur was born April 27, 1932 at home in Davis, Oklahoma to Arthur Francis (Buck) & Rhetta (Hicks) Cops.

He was called home to be with his Heavenly Father Tuesday October 29, 2019 with his two daughters and son-in-law by his side. at his home in Sulphur, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years 6 months and 2 days.

Hubert grew up in Davis and graduated from Davis High School in 1950. He later joined the U S Navy and served his country for four years during the Korean War. On December 26, 1953, he married Betty Sue Webb in the home of her parents, Thurman and Nettie Webb of Sulphur. In early 1958 Hubert and Betty Sue and their two daughters moved to Dallas, Texas. On April 16, 1958 Hubert joined the Dallas Fire Department where he served for 25 years, retiring on January 27, 1983 He and Betty Sue moved from Dallas back to Sulphur in October 1982. He was a Mason for 52 years, serving in the Masonic Lodge in Sulphur as a Master Mason. He was also an active member of Crossway Baptist Church in Sulphur, where he served as a deacon. He loved fishing, camping, wood working and most of all spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Sue Cops, a son: Thurman Keith Cops, his parents: Arthur & Rhetta Cops, brothers: George, Keese, Dean, G.L, and sister: Frances.

Survived by 2 Daughters & Sons-in-law: Katheryn Jean-Anne Barnes & Allen, of Carrollton, TX Susan Marlese Featherston & James, of Sulphur, OK 4 Grandchildren: Jonathan Featherston & wife Jenny, of Castle Rock, CO; and Kathryn & husband Greg Fondren, of Carrollton, TX; and Katrina & husband Kendrick Dunn-Ford, of Grand Prairie, TX; and Ashton Barnes, of Carrollton, TX; 7 Great grandchildren, Averianna, Cademon, Graham,, Lilian, James, Vanessa, & Vivian; Brothers, Clifford Cops, of Okla. City, OK; and Palmer (Mickey) Cops, of Davis, OK; Sister-in-law, Betty Chloe Cops, of Dallas, TX; Numerous nieces & nephews & cousins.

Pallbearers will be Eugene Cops, Jr., Drew McDonald, Kris Brinson, Fred Flowers, Bryan McDonald, Allen Frazier, Tommy Cops, and Alvin Cops. Honorary Bearers: John Clark, Ed Morton, De Lannom, Gene Neal, Joe Brady, Ed Best, Butch Hill, Leland Kilgore.

Services will be held Saturday November 2, 2019 at 11:00AM at Crossway Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Bill Leveridge.

Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home
