Michael Shannon Williams, long-time resident of Bethany died Tuesday, October 15th, 2002. He was born January 5th, 1950 in Oklahoma City to Chuck and June Williams. A graduate from Putnam City High School, Mike attended University of North Texas before entering the U.S. Navy. He served on the U.S.S. Proteus during the Vietnam conflict. Upon his return from the U.S. Navy, Mike was employed by Humpty/Allied Supermarkets until they closed in 1985. The last 14 years Mike was employed by Lopez Foods. Mike was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother; his wife of 18 years, Sharon; their son, Shannon Michael of Alexandria, Virginia; their daughter, Regina and husband Cody Hatley of Warr Acres, who are the daughter of his beloved granddaughter Sydney Marie, and his youngest son, Kevin Charles of the home. One brother, Patrick Erin and wife Laurie of Warr Acres; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and friends. Services will be held Friday, October 18th, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 N.W. Expressway. Viewing with the family will be on Thursday from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
