WEINMEISTER, ADELINE FRANCES (SPAHN) 1902-2002
Funeral services for Adeline Weinmeister were held Tuesday, November 5th, 2002 at the Trinity Baptist church in Watonga, Oklahoma with Rev. Jim Constant officiating. Burial followed at the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Watonga with Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to His Hand Extended Pentecostal Holiness Church in Watonga, Oklahoma. Adeline Frances Weinmeister was born August 17th, 1902 at Durham, Marion County, Kansas to Fred and Emma (Eckart) Spahn and passed away Friday, November 1st, 2002 at the age of 100. Her family moved to a farm west of Loyal, Blaine County, Oklahoma in 1910. Most of her life was spent in the Okeene, Eagle City, and Watonga areas, moving to the Watonga community in 1968. She attended Elm Grove School, two miles east of Okeene through the eighth grade and then attended and graduated from Okeene High School in 1921 as Valedictorian. The year she graduated, she married Jake Weinmeister at Enid, Garfield County, Oklahoma, and they lived on a farm five miles southwest of Okeene. She and her husband spent many years farming, living through the depression and dust bowl years. Adeline was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church and enjoyed doing yard work, crossword and jigsaw puzzles and quilting. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sone, five brothers, two sisters, and one grandson. She is survived by two sons: Donald Weinmeister of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Gerald Weinmeister of Edmond, Oklahoma; one daughter: Orlene Sisson of Watonga, Oklahoma; three sisters: Clara Buchheim of Topeka, Kansas; Emma Hendricks of Galveston, Texas; Mary Ellen Williams of Louisville, Kentucky; fourteen grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 25 great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
