SCHNELL, ALICE (BAKER) 1918-2003
Alice Schnell passed away May 15th, 2003 in Prescott, Arizona after a brief illness. She recently moved to Prescott to be nearer Jaki and Kirby and their children and grandchildren. She was born February 12th, 1918 in Okeene, Blaine County, Oklahoma, and was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben; her parents, Earl and Roxie Baker; her sister Jackie Nusz, her brothers Gene Baker and Earl Baker Jr. and her grandson, Michael Schnell. Alice has been retired for many years from O.S.U. where she had been an accountant for the Research Foundation. She has been recognized in "Personalities of America" for her services to O.S.U. and was also recognized by the American Biographical Institute of Raleigh, North Carolina. Following her retirement she lived in Broken Arrow and Tulsa near Earl and his family. She was a volunteer at Cedar Ridge Christian Church, Broken Arrow Neighbors and Lynn Wood Elementary School where her daughter-in-law Peggy, taught for many years. She was known in Broken Arrow for repairing clothing and dolls collected for distribution by Broken Arrow Neighbors. She sewed a new outfit for each doll that would one day be cherished by the child who received it. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 24th, 2003 at the Cedar Ridge Christian Church, 12419 E. 101st Street South, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Ebenfeld Cemetery, 2.5 miles south and 1 mile east of Okeene, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers and on behalf of her beloved family members who have experienced cancer, she has requested that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6440 S.
