ROBBINS, RUSSELL 1918-2002
Funeral service for Russell Robbins, 83, were on Monday, May 6th, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jet United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dean Holt officiating. Burial followed at the Timberlake Cemetery, southwest of Jet, Oklahoma with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home of Cherokee, Oklahoma. He was born on a farm south of Jet, Oklahoma on August 28th, 1918 to John and Louie (Hopkins) Robbins and he died at St. Mary's Medical Center on Friday, May 3rd, 2002. He attended grade school and high school at Jet, graduating in 1936. He lived with his parents on the family farm his entire life, taking care of his parents in their later years. He was a farmer and rancher who believed in doing his farming right. He was a member of the Jet United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He is survived by two nieces, Janice Bobbins Hitchcock of Arkansas City, Kansas and Judith Robbins Drongoski of Arizona, several great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ephraim Emro Robbins and one nephew, Ephraim Emro Robbins, Jr. Memorials may be made to the Jet Fire Department First Responders through the funeral home.
