REISIG, EVA ELIZABETH (STEINERT) 1890-1966
Eva Elizabeth Reisig was born on April 10,1890 in Russia and passed to her rest in her home in Shattuck, Oklahoma on March 13, 1966. She was less than a month from her 78th birthday. She married Jacob D. Reisig in July 1910. With her husband and their first child Alex, she migrated to the United States in February of 1912. The young family settled down near Grand, Oklahoma, but later moved to a farm near Goodwin, Oklahoma, and finally retiring in Shattuck, Oklahoma. Mr. Reisig preceded her in death in 1958. Early in 1915 Sister Reisig, along with her companion, accepted the teachings of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was baptized into that fellowship. She was a loyal member through the years and her faithful presence in the church will be missed. Four children were born to Jacob and Eva: Alex J Reisig of Atlanta, Georgia; Alvina Thornton of Portland, Oregon; Leo C. Reisig of Shattuck, Oklahoma; and Billy Reisig, who lost his life during World War II. Mrs. Reisig has one sister and two brothers surviving: Marguarite Schmunk of Russia; J. J. Steinert and D.J. Steinert, both of Glendale, California. The Reisigs took great interest in the growth of their children in the church's system of Christian education. Especially close to Sister Reisig's heart were her grand-children: Ted and Joan Reisig of Shattuck, Oklahoma; Delores Reisig Wisebey and Donald Reisig, both of Loma Linda, California. She also has two great grandchildren: Randy and Renee Wisebey. Mrs. Reisig will be remembered as a devoted mother and loyal friend of many people. She looked forward to the day of her Savior's return when she along with her family will meet their Maker in peace without the loss of one. As printed in the "NORTHWEST OKLAHOMAN", April 1, 1966.
