MARION - Alice Rempel, 85, died January 14, 1999, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita, Kansas. She was born October 30, 1913, at Faye, Oklahoma, the daughter of Clark and Martha (Schlotthauer) Johnston. A lifetime resident of the Marion community, she was a homemaker. She belonged to Marion Christian Church and the Christian Women's Fellowship. On February 21, 1931, she married Reuben Rempel at Marion, Kansas. He died June 25, 1991. Survivors include: a daughter: Etta Mae Keirns of Goodland, Kansas; two brothers: Lloyd of Salem, Oregon; and Water of Redfield, Kansas; five sisters: Josephine Stroda, Ruth Bessel, Bernice Herbel and Elnora Seimens, all of Marion, Kansas, and Helen Reiswig of Claremore, Oklahoma; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Marion Christian church, with the Rev. John Yates presiding. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion, Kansas.
