OBITUARY - Oakley, Eula Mae (Hutson) 1914-2002
Graveside service for Eula Mae Oakley, 87, was at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 10th, 2002 at Square Cedar Cemetery near Cleo Springs, Oklahoma with Rev. Connie Schlarb officiating. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home of Helena, Oklahoma. Eula Mae was born on November 20th, 1914 in Pond Creek, Oklahoma, the daughter of Will Frank and Rosa Mae Hutson and died Sunday, August 4th, 2002 at Athens, Georgia following a brief illness. She attended Pond Creek Grade school and graduated from Pond Creek High School. On November 13th, 1934 she married George William Oakley at Guthrie, Oklahoma. She was the beloved mother of sons: G. William Oakley and Donald Dean Oakley. She was very active in Eastern Star and served in many capacities throughout her loving involvement. She served in chapters in Cherokee, Oklahoma, Cannon City, Colorado, and Pueblo, Colorado. Eula Mae was always an avid Oklahoma Sooner football fan and on any given Saturday a call to her house would find her in front of the TV. Sundays found her watching the Denver Broncos with the same ardor. This enthusiasm belied her sweet and gentle nature. She was a member of the Cleo Springs Christian Church. She is survived by her children G. William and wife, Rayda of Georgetown, Colorado; and Donald Dean and wife, Jeannie of Winder, Georgia; four sisters-in-law, Dorleen Hutson of Huntsville, Alabama; Gwendolyn Oakley Long of Wichita, Kansas; Almetta Oakley Baldwin of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Betty Lou Oakley Snook of Atlanta, Georgia, three nieces, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
