FUNERAL NOTICE - NUSZ, FERN L. (LAMBERT) 1911-1996
DACOMA - The funeral for Fern Lambert Nusz, 84, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Dacoma United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gail Daughtery officiating. Burial will follow in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Wharton Funeral Chapel. She was born on July 29th, 1911, on a farm south of Hopeton, Oklahoma to George W. and Stella (Fuller) Lambert and died Thursday, July 18th, 1996 at the Alva Share Medical Center. She attended the Mid-Valley Rural Grade School (two-room) and graduated from the Northwestern State College High School in Alva in 1929. She then attended nurse's training at the Enid General Hospital and became a registered nurse. She married Jacob Andrew Nusz on November 26, 1932, at the Dacoma E.U.B. Church parsonage. Following their marriage, they lived in Enid, where she worked as a registered nurse and as a supervisor in the nursing training at the Enid General Hospital. During World War II she served as the Garfield County Health Nurse. In May of 1949 they moved to a farm north of Dacoma where they farmed and she worked at the Alva General Hospital and Share Medical Center as floor supervisor and then in the pharmaceutical department. She was a member of the Dacoma Methodist Church and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the home Demonstration Club. She is survived by two sisters: Alfreda Vail and Ava Poole of Wichita, Kansas; and a sister-in-law, Lorena Lambert of Hopeton, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her daughter, her parents and one brother. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Cancer Fund or the Dacoma United Methodist Church.
