NUSS, ALEXANDER (ALECK) 1891-1973
Aleck Nuss, 82, of 605 Ninth Avenue, died Thursday in Trinity Hospital, after a relatively short illness. He was a former Barton, Ness and Hodgeman county resident who had lived here since 1946. Mr. Nuss was born January 30th, 1891 in Barton County, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Frederick Nuss. He grew up in that county and he and Katherine Deutsch were married there November 24th, 1912. They moved in 1917 to Ness county, north of Bazine and in 1927 to a farm northwest of Jetmore. They moved to Dodge City in 1946. Mrs. Nuss died January 25th, 1960. Mr. Nuss and Mrs. Bertha Keil were married March 24th, 1961 in Jetmore. They had lived in Dodge City since their marriage. Mr. Nuss was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Survivors include the widow; a son, Elmer of Ness City, Kansas; two daughters, Mrs. Ted (Edna) Byrum of Garfield, Kansas and Mrs. Delmar (Irene) Mechaelis of Wichita, Kansas; three step-sons, Clarence Keil of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Leland and Glen Keil of Russell, Kansas; six step-daughters, Mrs. Lucille Heinze of Russell, Kansas; Mrs. Elsie Heber of Dorrance, Kansas; Mrs. Thelma Groves of Hays, Kansas; Mrs. Clarnetta Brainerd of Great Bend, Kansas; Mrs. Fern Barngrover of Dodge City, Kansas; and Mrs. Alean Sanders of Miltovale, Kansas; a sister, Mrs. Pauline Krug of Russell, Kansas; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Raymond and G. A. Nuss. The funeral has been set for 1 p.m. Monday in Holy Cross Lutheran Church with the Rev. Edwin F. Hoelter officiating. Burial will be in the Bazine Cemetery with Hulpieu-Swaim Funeral Home in charge.
