FUNERAL NOTICE - NUSZ, ANDREW J. 1884-1970
Andrew Nusz Funeral Held Saturday
Funeral services for Andrew J. Nusz were held Saturday, November 7, at 2:00 p.m. in St. John United Church of Christ. Pastor Dan MacKenzie officiated. Mrs. Wilbur Silks was pianist. A quartet sang, composed of William Heffel, Virgil Nusz, George Bisel, and Sam Fox Jr. Their accompanist was Mrs. William Heffel. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery, directed by Landes Funeral Home. Bearers were Fred Beisel, Raymond Nusz, Albert Nusz, Leonard Nusz, Richard Nusz, and Edwin Osmus. Andrew J. Nusz was born of George and Christine Nusz in South Russia, May 28, 1884. As a child he came with his parents to Blaine County, Oklahoma, from Marion County, Kansas. He lived in this community the rest of his life, moving to Okeene in 1957. He was united in marriage to Katherine Weber, March 24, 1907. He was the oldest member of St. John United Church of Christ. Survivors are his wife, Katherine; two sons and seven daughters: Elmer, Mrs. Herman (Beverly) Nelson, Oklahoma City; Woodrow, Mrs. Milo (Delpha) Slaght, Mrs. Albert (Ruth) Schultz, Okeene; Mrs. Loyel (Helen) Baker, Mrs. Armond (Ressie) Riojos, Ponca City; Mrs. Vernon (Goldie) Epp, Fairview; 25 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Nusz, Andrew J. 1884-1970
Andrew J. Nusz was born in South Russia, May 28, 1884, son of George and Christine Nusz. As a child he came with his parents to Blaine County, Oklahoma, from Marion County, Kansas. He lived in this county the rest of his life moving to Okeene in 1957. He married Katherine Weber, March 24, 1907, and they had two sons and seven daughters. Andrew died November 7, 1970. At the time, he was the oldest member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Katherine was born in March, 1889 in Russia, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Weber. She came to Okeene with her parents at an early age and grew up in this community. She died in 1964 at the age of 75. The Nusz children are Elmer and Beverly, Mrs. Herman Nelson, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Woodrow of Enid, Oklahoma; Delpha, Mrs. Milo Slaght, and Ruth, Mrs. Albert Schultz, both of Okeene, Oklahoma; Helen, Mrs. Loyal Baker, and Ressie, Mrs. Armond Riojos, both of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Goldie, Mrs. Vernon Epp, of Fairview, Oklahoma. There are 25 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Pal Bearers at Andrew J. Nusz services were: Raymond Nusz, Fred Beisel, Albert Nusz, Leonard Nusz, & Richard Nusz.
