MURRELL, WILLIAM WILLARD (JUDGE) - 1849-1923
At his home in Canton, at 8:36 a.m. August 4th, 1923, William Willard Murrell, more familiarly known as Judge Murrell, passed on to his eternal reward, at the close of a long and useful life. He was born in Kentucky, April 7, 1849. Mr. Murrell lived near Okeene for a number of years and was in every respect a community builder, serving a term as County Commissioner, and several on the Town Board and as Justice of the Peace. Funeral services were held in the Christian Church Sabbath afternoon, conducted by his pastor, Bro. Lindley, assisted by Bro. Burch of the Christian Church, and Rev. R. C. Millhollen of Okeene, who preached the sermon. Internment was made in the Okeene cemetery located on his home place. As printed in the "OKEENE RECORD", Friday, August 10th, 1923, Okeene, Blaine County, Oklahoma.
