MEISNER, ESTHER RUTH (LAUBACH) 1907-1990
The funeral for Esther Ruth Meisner,82, who died Wednesday, July 11, 1990 at Okeene Prestige Manor, was held Friday, July 13th, 1990 at St. John's United Church of Christ. The Rev. Roberta Ganzer officiated. Burial followed in the Bierig Cemetery under the direction of Wilkinson Mortuary. Esther was born August 19th, 1907, near Okeene to Jacob and Mary Laubach Winter and was raised on a farm in that area. She attended Deep Creek School, and on February 18th, 1926 married Carl Henry Meisner at Okeene, Oklahoma. They had six children. In 1953, the family moved to Stillwater, where they lived until 1961, moving to Blackwell for three years. Then they moved to Enid, where they lived until 1979. She returned to Okeene after her husbands death, and has lived at Prestige Manor since October 1989. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Survivors include three sons. Dr. Robert Meisner of Manhattan, Kansas; Jimmy Meisner of San Diego, California; and the Rev. Wesley Meisner of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one daughter, Vera Turner of Olathe, Kansas; two brothers: Carl Winter of Okeene, Oklahoma, and Herman Winter of Watonga, Oklahoma; two sisters: Elsie Hostettler of Peru, Indiana; and Ruby Repp of Weatherford, Oklahoma. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters, one son and one daughter.
