LEHR, PETER 1893-1969
PETE LEHR SERVICES HELD THURSDAY - Funeral service for Pete Lehr were held at the First Baptist church last Thursday at 2 p.m., Rev. Bill Choate officiated. Miss Leota Hall was the organist and a quartet sang, composed of William Cobb, T. O. Naylor, Otis Tatom and John Lubbers. Keller & Landes Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Bearers were Raymond Lehr, Harley Lehr, Jake Nusz, David Tautfest, Dean Weigand, and Grant Marlatt. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery. Peter Lehr, son of Henry and Katherine Lehr, was born November 15, 1893 in Marion County Kansas and died February 17, 1969, at Okeene, Oklahoma. In 1916 he was united in marriage with Eva Weigand and to this union five children were born. The Lehr family has lived the past 52 years in the Canton and Okeene communities. Mr. Lehr was a member of the Deep Creek Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, Eva of the home; a son, Ivan of Richmond, California; his daughters: Lillian Byers of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Evelyn Wyatt of Richmond, California, Dorothy Pierce of Concord, California, Gwendolyn Skyrem of Santa Rosa, California; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren; four brothers: Harry of Michigan; Carl, Jake, and Fred, all of Okeene, Oklahoma; four sisters: Marie Karle of Nebraska; Lydia Nusz of Enid, Oklahoma; Mollie Laubach of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Bertha Tautfest of Weatherford, Oklahoma.
