GOFORTH, LILLIAN (BEISEL) 1903-1999
Okeene - The funeral for Lillian Goforth, 95, will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Okeene United Methodist Church. The Rev. Travis Hopper will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Lanman Funeral Home. The casket will be open from 2-8 p.m. today and from 9-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. It will be open at the church before the service. She was born November 5, 1903, at Okeene to John "Fred" and Maria Nusz Beisel and died Thursday, February 11, 1999. She attended Arapaho Country School through the Eighth Grade, then Okeene High School. On October 22, 1924, she married Otis Goforth at Oklahoma City where they lived for two years. She worked in an overall factory. They moved to Okeene in 1927. She was a homemaker and helped with Goforth Produce Co.. The business became Goforth Motor Company. They sold cars, tractors, and farm machinery. She was a member of Okeene United Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons: Lowell and Gene Sr., of Okeene; one sister, Alice Thom of Enid; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, six brothers, and one sister. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Okeene Hospital Foundation.
