Services were held Tuesday, May 26th, 1981 in the Geary First Baptist Church for Mary Melissa Ann Coyle, who died in Watonga Municipal Hospital on Friday, May 22nd, 1981, at age 94. The Rev. Paul Hudson officiated at funeral rites, and Turner Funeral Home was in charge of burial in Geary Cemetery. Born January 12th, 1887 in Warsaw, Missouri to Hans Hamilton and Martha (Sisney) Smith, she came to the Bridgeport-Geary area from Missouri in 1890. She married Casper Clarence Coyle on August 27th, 1904 in Geary, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on December 31st, 1970 in Edmond, Oklahoma. She had lived in Oklahoma City for the past year and also was a resident of the Geary Community Nursing Home. A housewife, she had been a member of the Highland Hills Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, and OES Chapter No. 245 in Yukon, Oklahoma. Surviving her are seven daughters: Vera Lee Turner of Geary, Oklahoma; Velma Dickenson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Verna Compton of Yukon, Oklahoma; Viola Holmes of Edmond, Oklahoma; Venus Worsham of Oklahoma City, Virginia Ketcham of New Orleans, Louisiana; and Velva Jo Johnson of Columbia, South Carolina; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Harley Smith of Louisiana; and four sisters: Ollie McClain of Hinton, Oklahoma; Odessa Neely of Louisianna; Daisy Clark of Mutual, Oklahoma; and Lilly Morris of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Three brothers, two sisters, and a grandson, Richard Dickenson preceded her in death.
