IN MEMORY OF GLEN FINES COSSEY 1904-1981
Glen Fines Cossey was born September 24th, 1904 at Van Buren County, Arkansas to James Melvin and Fannie Frances (Morrison) Cossey and died Thursday, May 28th, 1981 at Watonga at age 76. Rev. Cossey spent his childhood in Arkansas and became a minister at the age of 22. He served as pastor of Assembly of God churches for several years in Fort Cobb, Thomas, Mooreland, Clinton, and Weatherford, and for the past 17 years had resided in Watonga, where he was pastor of the Assembly of God Church. He was also a Presbyter of Section 11 of Oklahoma District Council for 34 years. He married Gertrude Pearl Campbell at Morrilton, Arkansas on June 3rd, 1926. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. James Melvin Cossey, and two brothers: Ulis Cossey of Tulare, California; and Arlie Cossey of Gracemont, Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife, Gertrude, of the home; his step-mother, Dora Cossey of Anadarko; six brothers, Onnie of New Hope, Arkansas; Granville of Cement, Oklahoma; Jimmie of Wichita, Kansas; and Denver, Clyde and Ines, all of Anadarko; four sisters: Annie Horn and Lula Jones, both of Anadarko; Wilma Bondy of Ecore, Michigan; and Ruby Koop of Cannon City, Colorado, and numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral services for Rev. Cossey were held Saturday, May 30th, 1981 at the First Assembly of God Church of Weatherford, Oklahoma, with Dr. Robert E. Goggin and the Rev. Lindell Warren officiating. Graveside services with interment were in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, with Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
