BRICKMAN, GLADYS RUTH (LORENZ) 1912-1998
OKEENE - The funeral for Gladys Ruth Brickman, 85, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Exline officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Sisson Funeral Home. She was born November 16t, 1912, in Kiel to Solomon and Mary Krause Lorenz and died Tuesday, January 27th, 1998 at the Fairview Fellowship Home. She graduated from Okeene High School and received a certificate of teaching from Northwestern College at Alva. She taught school and coached girls basketball at both Okeene and Lacy Schools. She married George M. Cobb and he preceded her in death. She married Ralph Brickman on May 26, 1946 in Winfield, Kansas. She was also a manager for the business office of the Sooner Coop in Okeene for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Embroidery Club, Round-Up Club, Bowling League and the Election Board. She is survived by her husband Ralph, of the home; one daughter, Gail Kristaponis of Lynnwood, Washington; three brothers: Merle Lorenz of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Harold Lorenz of Loyal, Oklahoma; and Raymond Lorenz of Kirkland, Washington; one sister, Delores Williams of Modesto, California; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband and seven brothers and sisters. Memorials may be made in her memory to the Okeene Hospital Foundation.
