ADAM, AMBROSE A. 1890-1985
A funeral mass for Ambrose A. Adam, 94, was said at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 1985, in St. Anthony's Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald Moore officiated. Adam died Thursday, April 25, 1985, at Okeene Municipal Hospital. A rosary service was held Friday night for him in the Wilkinson Mortuary Chapel. Burial was in the Calvery Catholic Cemetery in Okeene. Adam was born August 19, 1890, at Harper, Iowa. He and his wife, the former Theresa Mary Poetzold, were married September 10, 1912. The couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 1982. They lived in Iowa, Texas, and Arkansas before moving to Okeene in 1928. Mrs. Adam died on July 30, 1983. Adam owned and operated a machine shop in Okeene until his retirement in 1957. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include four sons: Edward P. Adam of Houston, Texas; Charles Adam of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Frank Adam of Wilburton, Oklahoma; and Robert Adam of Okeene, Oklahoma; four daughters: Mrs. Del (Victoria) Quick of Ozawkie, Kansas; Mrs. Ross (Aileene) Johnson of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Mrs. Norbert (Mary) Roach of Winslow, Arkansas; and Mrs. Roy (Delores) Stutz of Bryan, Texas; two sisters: Madeline Zero of San Diego, California, and Rosie Greiner of Harper, Iowa; 32 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, two sons, two brothers, and one sister. As printed in "the OKEENE RECORD", Thursday, May 2, 1985, Okeene, Blaine County, Oklahoma.
