1939
BEACH
Several hundred people of this section attended the funeral held at the local Methodist church Monday afternoon to pay the last respects to one of our well known and beloved ladies, Mrs. Sherman BEACH.
Mrs. BEACH had been in failing health for several months but was not considered dangerously ill until last week when she was taken to a Prairie Grove hospital where she passed away Saturday evening.
Mrs. BEACH was born at Summers, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. MCGUIRE. She was 41 years old at the time of her death.
Survivors include the husband, two sons, Eugene BEACH, a student in Oklahoma A and M College, Stilwell, Okla.; Jimmie BEACH; and two daughters, Florence and Inamae of the home; her father, A.C. MCGUIRE, Westville; her mother, Mrs. M.C. MCGUIRE, Oakland, Calif.; two brothers, Walter MCGUIRE, Siloam Springs, Ark.; Johnny MCGUIRE, Pacific Grove, Calif.; and three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle ROLLER, Stilwell, Okla.; and Mrs. Ruth TABER and Mrs. Dolly GRIFFIN, both of Oakland, Calif.
PILGRIM
Mrs. Bessie PILGRIM, age 37, wife of Lloyd PILGRIM of the Chance section, died suddenly at her home Monday.
Death came just a few hours after the birth of a daughter.
She leaves a husband, four children, her mother, three sisters and five brothers to mourn her death.
The funeral was held here Tuesday at the Roberts Chapel and burial made in the Fields cemetery near Tahlequah.


January 22, 1939
HERMAN
Mrs. Z.E. HERMAN, age 67, a well known pioneer lady of this city, died Sunday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl CARRICK, after a long illness.
Mrs. HERMAN was a member of the Lewis SYNDER family, one of the real pioneer families of this city and most of her life was spent in this section.
The funeral was held at the Pentecostal church Tuesday afternoon and burial made in the family lot in the Foreman cemetery west of town.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Arthur SMITH of Shawnee, Okla.


February 5, 1939
SHEFFIELD
Mrs. Mary E. SHEFFIELD, age 91, member of a pioneer Westville family, died here Sunday night at the home of her son, W.L. SHEFFIELD, after a two weeks illness.
Mrs. SHEFFIELD was born near Robinson, Ark., on December 10, 1847, the daughter of Jess and Jane WALKER. She was married in 1868 to T.E. SHEFFIELD to which union was born three children, Jess SHEFFIELD, W.L. SHEFFIEND and Mrs. Ellen Hodges, the atter two surviving.
The husband died in this city in 1917, and the son died in California the same year.
Other surviving relatives are two brothers, three sisters, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren
