Christine "Chris" Rodriguez, 84, of  Council Hill, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2004 in Eufaula.  She was born on December 29, 1919 in Pierce, OK to John and Etta (Glenn Ledbetter) Thompson. On April 16, 1945 Chris  and Joe Rodriguez were married in Rockwell, TX and together they moved to this area in 1973 from Dallas, TX. Chris had worked as a registered nurse for the VAMC, Community Hospital Lakeview, Okmulgee Memorial Hospital and Community Home Health. She was active in the Indian Community Center, and was of the Baptist faith. Preceding her in death were her parents, step father Homer  Ledbetter and two sisters, Twyla Ledbetter and Johnnie Frazier.

Survivors include husband Joe of the home; son Michael Rodriguez of Weatherford, TX; daughter Martha Armstrong of Checotah; two brothers Wayne Ledbetter of Checotah and Donald Ledbetter of Los Angeles, CA; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held in the First Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery with Jess Jackson, J. R. Jackson, Greg Stauffer, Jason Armstrong and Fred Armstrong serving as casketbearers.
