BLANCHARD, MCCLAIN CO, OK
(permission granted) Floyd Dean Thompson, 75, of Blanchard, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at his home. The son of Floyd Thompson and Alma Mozelle (McKinney) Thompson, he was born August 21, 1939 in Cole, Oklahoma.

Dean was the Valedictorian of the Blanchard High School graduating class of 1957. He then went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and a Master’s Degree in Business from Tulane University. Dean worked for many years as a petroleum engineer and then served as a Vice President of Citibank in New York until his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blanchard. In his spare time, he enjoyed leatherwork, playing tennis, and was an avid Sooner fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lanny Thompson; and several aunts and uncles.

Dean is survived by one brother, Kinney Thompson, of Blanchard; aunts and uncles, Jo Ann Wood of Blanchard, W.E. McKinney and his wife, Retha, of San Angelo, Texas, and Jesse D. McKinney and his wife, Mary Lou, of Pearland, Texas; a host of cousins; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 1, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
