Ralph E. Stephens, age 78 of Washington, passed away Wednesday, April 03, 2019.

Ralph Edward Stephens was born November 17, 1940 in Criner, OK, the youngest of four sons born to Roy Edward Stephens and Ora Edith (Hanna) Stephens. He was raised in the Washington area and attended Washington Schools, graduating in 1958. Not too long after, Ralph met a young lady who was new to the area, Miss Lois June Stidham. She was working at Woody Chapel, when by chance, Ralph walked in. They fell in love and were later married on May 12, 1962, in Purcell. They first made their home in Okla. City, before settling back home near Washington on the Stephens family dairy farm. Together they raised two children; son, Jay and daughter Jana. Ralph was a carpenter by trade and a home builder; a hard worker and a great provider for his family. He was most proud to work side by side, day by day with his son Jay, for more than 26 years. When not working, Ralph enjoyed deer hunting, riding 4 wheelers and family camping trips, and he never missed an opportunity to watch a good western. He cherished his family and especially his grandchildren, and he was their biggest fan. He was a man of great faith and a longtime member of the Washington Church of Christ. A wonderful husband and father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a true friend; Ralph will be dearly missed!
