Larry Little, age 88 of Newcastle, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021. Larry Medierse Little was born August 29, 1932 in Pauls Valley, OK, the 2nd of 5 children born to James Alvin Little and Ethel Exie (Patton) Little. His earlier years were spent in the Seven Shooter Community, followed by many stops as the family followed work. By chance, on a blind date, Larry met his future wife, his best friend and life partner, Carleta June Archer. They were married on March 9, 1951 in Oklahoma City, and they made their home in Washington. Now a young couple, they packed up and moved to California, and it was here that they welcomed three children, Ricky, Dena and Cory. After a little more than ten years, the family moved back to Oklahoma, settling on an acreage near Newcastle that remains home today. Larry was an excellent welder, with skills unmatched by many. He spent more than 30 years with Five Star Pressure Washing, retiring as a metal fabricator. When he wasn’t working, you could probably find Larry throwing a hook at one of his favorite ponds. He was an avid deer hunter and looked forward to the hunt every year. He enjoyed traveling with Carleta, and spent many summers in Colorado in the Rocky Mountains. Larry enjoyed working with leather and wood, and he shared his talents with his family and friends. He was a man of great faith and longtime member of the Jesus Alive Church in Newcastle. He will be dearly missed!
Larry was preceded in death by: his wife, Carleta Little; parents, James and Ethel Little and Two brothers, infant Bobby Little and Jimmie Little.
Larry is survived by: his children, Ricky Little and wife Jeannie of Norman, Dena Luttrell of Newcastle and Cory Little of Norman; brother, Jerry Don Little and wife Audrey of Scarborough, ME; sister, Connie Ann Morris of Grand Prairie, TX; 8 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Jesus Alive Evangelistic Church in Newcastle. Burial will follow at the Washington Cemetery.
