Margie Ruth Kern age 78, of Washington, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Medical Park West Nursing Home in Norman.

Ruth was born May 30, 1939 in Washington, Oklahoma, the 5th of 10 children born to Paul Lemuel Andrews and Ola Marie (Madden) Andrews. She attended Washington schools. She married Wilbur Owen “Bud” Kern on December 17, 1955 in Washington. They made their home in Washington where together they raised 3 children, son, Johnny and daughters, Tyra and Twila. Ruth and Bud owned and operated the West Main Mobil Service Station in Norman for many years. They later owned and operated Ola Marie’s Café in Goldsby. Ruth was a mother to many, and affectionately known as “Mammie”.

She was preceded in death by: Husband, Wilbur Owen “Bud” Kern; Son, Johnny Kern; Infant Daughter, Tammy Lynn Kern; Parents, Paul and Ola Andrews; Brothers, James, Mark and Paulie Andrews; Sister, Edith Wells and husband Gerald; Sister-in-laws, Carole Ann Andrews, Sharon Andrews and Marlene Andrews.

She is survived by: Daughters, Tyra Massey and husband Mike of Washington and Twila Winkler of Washington; Sister, JoAnn Hayes and husband Harold of Washington; Brothers, Gary Andrews of Washington, Tommy Andrews and wife Sue of Purcell, Jackie Andrews of Washington and John Andrews and wife Marie of Washington; 6 grandchildren, Joi and husband Dewayne, Tamara, Blake and wife Randi, Paige and husband Zac, Shelby and husband Shane and Jake; 9 great grandchildren, Kali, Journey, Lyrical, Serenity, Jace, Maverick, Halleigh, Ella and Charlee. Sister-in-law, Louise Guyer and husband Jack of Elgin, TX and A host of other family and friends.

Graveside Services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Washington Cemetery, Washington, OK. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home, Purcell, OK.
