James Edward (Eddy) Jones of Washington, Ok passed away of heart disease on April 4,, 2016.

He was born July 7, 1956 to Dolores (Killgore) Jones and James P. (Jim) Jones of Wichita, KS. Eddy attended Kindergarten in Wichita. The family moved to Washington (to the Johnson Community) where he attended Purcell Mary Simpson Public School First through Sixth grade. The family then moved to the area of Washington, where the family currently resides, where he attended Washington Public Schools, graduating from WHS in 1974. He was active in all school sports and FFA. Immediately following graduation, he started employment in the carpentry department at the University of Oklahoma, working there for 32 years, and retiring as Assistant Director of Physical Facilities at the age of 49. June 1, 1979 Eddy married his true love, Teresa Genson, daughter of Bob and Rosetta Genson, of Purcell. Together they raised three daughters, Jessica, Michele, and Julie.

Eddy leaves behind his wife, Teresa of the home; his daughters Jessica Jones, Rick Bates and children Adara, Avah, and Emyrson of Shawnee, Michele Caldwell, husband Derek and children Joel, Ashtynn, Adrian, and Carrie of Blanchard, and Julie Sharp, husband Brian and children Madi and Easton of Wayne; his mother Dolores (Jones) Scott of Washington; sister Terrye (Jones) Dewey Nowak and husband Dave of New York; nephew David Dewey and wife Clare of Australia; niece Caroline Dewey of Louisiana; great aunt and uncle Deanna and Jim Page of Lexington; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Eddy was preceded in death by his father Jim Jones; stepfather Sterling Scott; and grandparents Lois and Woody Killgore and Jim and Leona Jones.

One of the family’s fondest memories of Eddy was the annual fireworks display he put on for his family and friends. If you wish to do something for the family, please send a donation to the Washington Town Hall, P.O. Box 127 Washington, OK 73093, to be used for the First Annual Fireworks Display in honor of Eddy.

Services will be held Friday April 8, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Washington First Baptist Church. Interment immediately following at the Washington Cemetery. Following the services, the family invite Eddy’s friends and family to attend a get together at the family home so that we may celebrate Eddy’s life.
