Judy Karen Freeman age 74 of Norman passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 9, 2015 at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Judy was born April 11, 1941 in Washington, Oklahoma. She was the oldest of two children born to Earl Fredrick Finch and Dorothy Marie (Johnson) Finch. Judy grew up in Washington and attended school there until the end of her freshman year. She then moved to Norman, OK to finish high school, graduating with the class of 1959. Still to this day, Judy stayed in touch and remained close friends with her class mates from Washington. Judy married Sammy Freeman on September 2, 1961 and together raised three children, Karen, Eric and Anne. She worked hard as a homemaker, wife and mother. Her family first lived in Derby, Kansas for 10 years; then Farmington Hills, Michigan for two years and Seattle, Washington for 12 years. Then in 2000, she moved back to Norman, OK to help take care of her aging parents. While living in Noman, Judy was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir. She enjoyed making new friends and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling, crocheting, cooking and baking. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and classmate friends.

She was preceded in death by: Mother, Dorothy Finch in 2012;

She is survived by: Father, Earl Finch of Norman; Three children, Karen Wahl and husband Brad of Mt. Juliet, TN, Ric Freeman and wife Natalie of Monroe, WA, Anne Freeman and Rainer Mahlmann of Lake Stevens, WA; One brother, Keith Finch and wife Burlyn of Lula, Georgia; 11 grandchildren, One niece, Emily Williams and husband Josh of Magnolia, TX; One nephew, Brian Finch and wife Melynee of Colorado Springs, CO. Also several cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Judy’s family and close friends will have a private graveside service at the Washington Cemetery in Washington, OK. However everyone, family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service to celebrate her life at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 27, 2015 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Norman, OK. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund. Send online condolences @wilsonlittle.com
