Edith Jewell Fox, 90, of Washington, OK passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021, after being able to spend time with family.

She was born in Pleasant Valley, OK, on May 11, 1930, daughter of the late Voy and Lillian Wheeler and grew up in Moore, OK, with twelve brothers and sisters.

Edith married the love of her life, Dale Leland Fox, on November 7,1947. They had two sons, Clonnie Dale Fox and Dennis Gene Fox. Edith was a full time homemaker taking care of her family, living in various places including Lawton, Oklahoma City, and Norman before settling the family in Washington, OK.

She enjoyed various activities including camping, fishing, traveling, playing piano, spending time with family, crocheting, and above all else, Sooner football.

Edith LOVED playing board games when the whole family would get together, sometimes sparking boys vs girls wars (girls always won). In the early 1980’s, her and Dale bought their Grandkids their first video gaming system, an Atari. Seldom did the Grandkids get to play because she always had to beat the next level of Pac-Man.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Fox of Norman, OK; daughter-in-law, Debbie Fox of Lenexa, KS; granddaughters, Nicki Fox-Tapper and husband Andrew of Boylston, MA, and Julie (Fox) Burk of Moore, OK; grandson, Daniel Fox and wife Krista of San Antonio, TX; three great granddaughters, Jordan Tapper of Boylston, MA and Mckinzey and Kaiya Fox of San Antonio, TX; former daughter-in-law, Donna Fox; brother, Gene Wheeler and wife Ann of Moore, OK; sisters-in-law, Evelyne Wheeler of Greenville, TX, and Judy Fox of Washington, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Edith is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale and son Clonnie; brothers, Roland Wheeler, Bill Wheeler, Lonnie Wheeler, Jess Wheeler, Fred Wheeler, and Dub Wheeler; and sisters, Virginia Galusha, Mae Lundy, Katy Steiger, Louise Jones, and Ruth Bergy.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Edith Fox to Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute at ocsri.org.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the Doctors and staff at Holiday Heights and Good Shepard Hospice for all the love, care and attention given to Edith, especially during Covid. Knowing she was in such good hands brings us peace.
