Odis Dean met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 8, 2015. Odis lived a long and productive life. He was born on July 27, 1922, to Brock Mire Dean and Beulah Ellen Berg Dean in McClain, County Ok.

He grew up on a farm in the Newcastle community. He graduated from Newcastle High School in 1941. He proudly served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corps, as a radio operator on a B-24. After completing 25 combat missions in Europe, he returned home in March of 1945, and married his true love and best friend Myrna June Marcum on June 16, 1945. After he was discharged from the military he worked as an electrician and later was employed at Tinker Air Force base in procurement as an expediter where he worked until he retired after 33 years of service. They lived 35 years in Washington, Oklahoma where Odis and family were faithful members of the First Baptist Church and active in the community. His daughters attended and graduated from Washington Schools. He loved gardening and taking care of his yard. After retirement Odis and Myrna moved to Mission, Texas to be near their oldest daughter and family. They enjoyed traveling and visited every state except Hawaii. They were active members of McAllen First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by: His parents, Brock and Beulah Dean; Four sisters, Pearl Smith, Hester Smith, Ida Whitten and Gladys Auwen; One brother, Haulby Dean; Daughter; Patricia Ann Davis; Great granddaughter, Caroline Davis.

He is survived by: His wife of nearly 70 years, Myrna Dean of Mission, Texas, One daughter, Sherri Traylor and her husband Leland of Albuquerque, New Mexico Four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, Grandson, Dean Traylor and his wife McKenzie of Riverton Utah, Granddaughter, Pamela Traylor of Albuquerque. Grandson, Kenneth Davis and wife Gabriel of College Station, Texas and their children Cody, Owen, Clair, Kate, Nathan and Jacob. Grandson, Eric Davis and wife Juanita of McAllen, Texas and their children Ethan, Rebekah, Rachel and Ruby. One Brother, Clifford Dean and wife Jimmie of Newcastle, Oklahoma Son-in-law, Boyd Davis and wife Linda of McAllen, TX. Sister-in-law, Lavell Dean Becker of Memphis, TX. Also many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Services will be held Thursday May 14, 2015 at 11:00a.m., at the First Baptist Church in Washington, OK. Interment will follow at the Washington Cemetery. Arrangements are with Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
