Tommy J. Sharp age 59 of Rosedale, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Norman Regional Hospital. Tommy was born on October 8, 1952 in Norman, OK. He was the middle child and only son of Ray Leon Sharp and Barbara Sue (Wallace) Sharp.

Tommy grew up in Wayne and graduated from Wayne H.S. in 1971. While in H.S. he enjoyed playing football and he also played in a music band called “The Clansman” where he played the drums. On May 26, 1973, Tommy married his high school sweetheart Alleen Groff. They made their home in Wayne for five years before moving to Rosedale where they live today. Tommy worked most of his life as a truck driver, working for his dad at “Ray Sharp Trucking”. He later farmed for six years but because of his failing health he had to retire and became a stay at home DAD. Tommy was an avid O. U. football fan but was mainly a fan of his children when they were playing sports. When his children were growing up, he hated to miss any of their football or softball games. Tommy didn’t have very many hobbies except spending time with his family and lately spoiling his four grandchildren. However he had always remained a Jimmy Hendrix fan and he still enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, a loving dad and grandpa, a special son, a kind brother and a dear friend to all who knew him.

He is survived by: Wife: Alleen Sharp of the home Parents: Ray and Sue Sharp of Wayne Six children: Chance Sharp of Rosedale Sammy Sharp and wife Brandye of Elmore City Brandon Sharp and wife Jennifer of Noble Talena Sharp of Paoli Cole Sharp of Rosedale Bonnie Sharp of Rosedale Two sisters: Connie Ellis and husband Sid of Wayne Sammie Logan and husband Bill of Paoli Four grandchildren: Tyler, Mallory, Broc and Cash Mother-in-law: Shirley Groff of Rosedale Many cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
