Charles David George, of Byars, OK, died Friday in a Shawnee rest home.

George was born in Wood County, Texas on January 23, 1895. He lived in McAlester for many years before he moved to Los Angeles, California. He worked as a roofer during World War II. After he retired he made his home in Byars, Ok for the past 25 years. He was living with his son, Gerald Ray, at the time of his death.

He was proceded in death by his wife, Grace Lillian on December 21, 1971.

He is survived by six sons: Edward of Austin, TX, James and Gerald Ray of Byars, OK, Charles David Jr. of Downey, CA, Robert Way of Los Angeles, CA and Clyde of San Diego, CA. One daughter, Mrs. Jesse Ledford of McAlester, OK. Two stepsones, Clarence and Earl Campbell of Tacoma, WA. Five sisters, Mollie Ferguson, Quinian, TX, Rose Cook, Garland, TX, Jane Cook, Rockwall, TX and Alice Aaron, Okemah, OK, Mirtie Lee Brooks.
