Alma Geraldine (McClure) Yearley Obit

Jan 23, 1933 - Jan 19, 2021



Alma Geraldine McClure Yearley was affectionately known as “Jabo”. She passed away on Tuesday 19 January 2021 in Texarkana, TX. She was 87 years old. She was born in Haworth, OK on 23 January 1933.

Alma graduated in 1951 from Haworth High School and held an Associate's Degree. Alma worked as a banker, starting her career in banking at First National Bank in Oklahoma City in the early 1950's. She retired from First National Bank of Newcastle in 1995 after more than 40 years of service.

Alma married the love of her life on 21 December 1967. His name was William “Bill” Yearley. They were members of Newcastle Heights Church of Christ in Newcastle, OK. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and Sudoku, coloring, doing cross-stitch and visiting with her friends on Facebook. Most of all she cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Jabo was very proud of her heritage and was a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.

Alma was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill, in 2016. Her parents, a son-in-law, Lynn Fiedler and two sisters, Florence Spalding and Isabel Clampet.

She is survived by her son, Johnny Draper and Susie Owens of Tom, Oklahoma. Her daughter, Kathy Draper of Foreman, Arkansas. One daughter-in-law, Nancy Draper of Norman, Oklahoma. Four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Three sisters: Lee Foye of Edmond, Oklahoma, Betty Lou Hunkapillar of Talihina, Oklahoma, and Virginia and husband Roy Dodson of Edmond, Oklahoma. One brother-in-law, Clarence and Joann Yearley of Mustang, Oklahoma. A special niece, Sandra Holt of Talihina, Oklahoma. Her caregiver and dear friend, Ruth Altenbaumer of Foreman, and special friends, Reba Knapp of Newcastle, Oklahoma and Elaine Dake of Norman, Oklahoma as well as her church family, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services were held on Saturday 23 January 2021 at Newcastle Memorial Gardens, Newcastle, Oklahoma.
