Verlan Ray Chance Obit

Verlan Ray Chance passed away on 04 October 2019.

He was born to Arthur and Mary Chance in Fresno, California on 06 Jun 1937.

Verlan served in the US Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He worked from Trigg Drilling in the 1980's. He also worked for Fryemiller Trucking as a cross-country truck driver.

Verlan and Eleanor Phillips were married 22 Jun 1962. He attended Rose Assembly Church and was an ordained minister who loved the Lord. Vernon had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a smile on his face. He cherished his family and friends and they charished him just as much. Verlan was greatly loved. He will be deeply missed.

Verlan was preceded in death by his soul-mate, Eleanor. Two sons: Gary and Wade. Two brothers: Estill and Steven and three sisters: Othello, Telca and Yvonne.

He is survived by three devoted children: Darryel Chance of Sparks, Larry Chance of Blanchard and Ann Jordon of Newcastle. He was blessed in this world with his family which included 19 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and numberous church family members and friends.

Graveside services were held on Thursday 10 Oct 2019 at Newcastle Memorial Gardens.
