Tommye Ree Carrier, age 82 of Newcastle, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 2, 2019. She was born January 24, 1937, in Levelland, Texas.

She was the younger of two daughters born to Thomas Judson Burnett and Alda Marie (Hughes) Burnett. Tommye grew up in Levelland and graduated with the high school class of 1954. In 1955, she married Charles Aubrey Mays and together they raised three children, Michael, Sandy and Mitchell. Because of her husband and his work, Tommye and her family lived over the next 17 years in various states including Texas, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, New Mexico and back to Oklahoma in 1972. While living in Oklahoma she lived in several different towns including, Lawton, Woodward and Oklahoma City.

On March 4, 1983, she married Lee Carrier and in 1985 they made their home in Newcastle. Throughout her life, Tommye worked as a bookkeeper and before she retired she worked nearly 20 years for BC Clark Jewelers in OKC. Since 1986, Tommye has been a faithful members of Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle.  She was a member of the Church Choir and taught Sunday school for many years.

While her children and grandchildren were growing up, she was their biggest sports and school activity fan. She loved going to their high school plays and sporting events. In her spare time, Tommye enjoyed reading and spending time with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by:Parents, Judson and Marie Burnett, Brother-in-law, Billy Jackson.

She is survived by:

Husband, Lee Carrier of the home in Newcastle.

Five children, Michael Mays and wife Susan of Moore, Sandy Humphrey and husband James of Chickasha,  Mitchell Mays and Heather Truex of OKC, Holly Sterling and husband David of CA, Heather Carrier of Houston.

One sister, Patsy Jackson of Lubbock, TX.

Eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew.

And a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle.

Interment will be at the Newcastle Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Women On Mission c/o Woodland Hills Baptist Church, 313 Oklahoma 76, Newcastle, OK, 73065. Funeral arrangements are with Wilson-Little Funeral Home, 3132 Tri City Ave., Newcastle, OK.
