Curtis Dean Baylis Obit

Mar 13, 1954 - Jun 19, 2017

Curtis Dean Baylis of Newcastle, OK passed away Jun 19, 2017. He was 63 years old.

Curtis was born to Don and Betty Baylis on Mar 13, 1964 in Decatur, Illinois.

Curtis serviced his country in the 3rd Armored Spearhead Division of the US Army at Syers Kaserne Army Base in Kirch-Gons, Germany where he was stationed.

Curtis retired from Tinker Air Force Base, Bridgestone, Dayton Tire Plant, and Firestone.

Curtis was the leader of his family and a mentor for his children. He was a Christian man and loved his Lord.

His first love was his family and he enjoyed sports, fishing and camping in their RV.

He is preceded in death by his father, Don Baylis, his son, Jason McGlade, a grandchild, Rosita Shaw, and a brother Greg Baylis.

Curtis is survived by his wife Deboray, his sons, James Baylis Sr., Kevin Shaw Jr., Michael Baylis, and Nathan Shaw Sr. and wife Rosario. His daughter Geniel Rodriguez and her husband Arturo and 9 grandchildren. His mother Betty J. Baylis. Also his siblings, George Baylis and Cindy Monacelli, Terry Baylis and Joan Lewis, Mark Baylis, Tina Baylis, Jill Coleman and husband Roger and Sandy Smith and husband Hubert.

A funeral service was helt Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11 am at the Baylis Residence. Interment followed at Newcastle Memorial Garden in Newcastle, OK. The family would like to give a special Thank You to the Palative Care unit at the Oklahoma City VA Hospital.
