Fred Thiessen

Graveside services for Fred Thiessen, 63, of Wayne were held Aug. 6, 2005 at Hopping Cemetery in Wayne with the Rev. Joseph Winfield officiating. Services were under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. Mr. Thiessen died Aug. 4, 2005 at Purcell Municipal Hospital.
He was born Aug. 22, 1941 in Oklahoma City, the son of Grant Jefferson Thiessen and Dorothy Leona Neeley Thiessen. He was reared in Oklahoma City, attending Crooked Oak Schools.
Following school he began working for the Fine Candy Company where he worked for many years. He later worked for the R.C. Bottling Company in Oklahoma City where he was supervisor. He retired from there in 1998 and in 2000 moved to Wayne.
Mr. Thiessen married Glenda Faye Hunt Nov. 10, 1961 in Del City. They reared four children and lived most of their lives in Moore.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Thiessen, of the home; two sons, Ed Thiessen of Vista, Calif., and Scott Thiessen and his wife, Angela, of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Sherri Peters and her husband, Mike, of Choctaw and Angela Robertson of Moore; four brothers, Grant Thiessen and his wife, Wanda, and Karol Thiessen and his wife, Linda, all of Oklahoma City, Bob Thiessen and his wife, Judy, of Plano, Texas, and Johnnie Thiessen and his wife, Linda, of Wisconsin; three sisters, Jenell Charlton of Oklahoma City, Mary Smith and her husband, John, of Chatanuga, Tenn., and Debby Fortenberry of Missouri; his mother-in-law, Jannie Hunt of Wayne; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
