Ricky Lyle Zerbel, age 51 of Purcell, passed away Friday September 13, 2013 at his home. Rick was born August 13, 1962 in Los Angeles, California, His parents of Orville Ray Hammond and Doris Marie (Vaughn) Hammond. He spent his early childhood in the Lexington and Noble area where he attended school. Rick worked in the oil field for a short time and later as a general contractor in construction. He always had a knack for building things. He married Mitzi Davis and to this union, 2 children, Timothy and Sarah were born. Rick had a wonderful personality and could always see the good in something. He was always joking around. He had a green thumb and could grow anything, and his heart was set on growing cactus. Rick loved to fish and especially noodling. He was a wonderful father, son, brother, uncle and a good friend. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by: His mother, Doris Vaughn Hammond.

Rick leaves behind: His son, Timothy Zerbel and His daughter, Sarah Zerbel, both of Purcell; His father, Orville Hammond and wife Jessie of Shawnee, OK; 2 sisters, Michelle Baldwin and Terri Jackson, both of Purcell; 4 brothers, Bill Zerbel and wife Amber, Junior Hammond and wife Tammy and Randy Hammond, all of Purcell and Bobby Hammond of Shawnee; 5 grandchildren, Nickolas, Ryan, Travis, Matthew and Annie and A host of other family and friends.

Graveside Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at the Hillside Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell.
