Naomi Bernice Passmore age 82 of Purcell, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013 in Madill, Oklahoma. She was born February 1, 1931 in Blanchard, Oklahoma the 4th child of five children born to Daniel Merle Southard and Mable Elizabeth (Jamar). Naomi grew up a country girl living in the Dibble community. She attended the Dibble schools, was on the high school basketball team and graduated with the class of 1948. One night while on a double date, Naomi met a young man from Carnegie, Oklahoma by the name of Lee Roy Passmore. They fell in love and were married on June 3rd 1950 in Oklahoma City. Their first home was in Okla. City, OK. After several years they then moved to Bethany where they lived several more years. Then in 1984 they moved to Purcell and built a home. When she was younger, Naomi’s first job was working for Williams Candy Co. and then for Parko Meter Co. making parking meters in OKC. She later worked at Western Electric in OKC where she worked until she retired in the early 1980’s. Throughout her life, Naomi enjoyed traveling with Lee Roy across the U. S. and overseas. She liked collecting antique Nabisco dishes and all kinds of cook books. She was a wonderful cook and especially enjoyed cooking for her family at family get-togethers. Since moving to Purcell, Naomi was a faithful member of the Purcell First Baptist Church. For many years she enjoyed serving in the kitchen as her ministry to the church. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother and as a special friend to her church family.

She was preceded in death by: Parents:Merle and Mable Southard, Husband:Lee Roy Passmore on August 7, 2010, Two brothers: Clifford and Joe Southard, One sister: Alice Wiley,

She is survived by: One daughter:Judy Potter and husband Dr. Joe Potter of Madill, One sister:Maxine Bridwell of Blanchard, One granddaughter:Jana Laufer and husband Dr.Steven Laufer of Houston, TX, Two great grandsons: Noah and Sam Also several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Purcell. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell. Memorials may be made to the Purcell First Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements are with Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. send online condolence at wilsonlittle.com.
