Jimmie Lee Cassity age 83 of OKC passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013 at his home after an extended illness. He was born December 13, 1929 in Purcell, OK. He was the 3rd child of three children born to Guy William Cassity and Jimmie Lee (Clement) Cassity. Jimmie grew up in Purcell and graduated from Purcell High School with the class of 1948. After H. S. he enlisted into the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country for several years. While in the Navy he married his H. S. sweetheart, Shirley Jean Rose. They were married on December 24, 1948 in Purcell. They later made their home in South OKC and together raised four children. Jimmie worked for 31 years as a Letter Carrier for the U. S. Postal Service and was in the U. S. Navy reserves for nearly 30 years. He was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church for over 50 years where he sang in the choir. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge. After retiring, Jimmie enjoyed staying at home mostly and spending time with his family

He was preceded in death by: Parents: Guy and Jimmie Cassity One daughter: Betty Palmer Two brothers: Guy William Cassity and George Robert Casssity One grandson: Kyle Sellmyer

He is survived by: Wife; Shirley of the home One son; Jimmy Cassity of Alamosa, CO. Two daughters: Donna Eaton and husband Marvin of OKC Judy Sellmyer and husband Greg of OKC 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Asbury United Methodist Church in OKC. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle.
