Genevieve Ruth McKenzie passed from this life to the arms of her Heavenly Father on March 11, 2009 at Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Chickasha.

Genevieve was born the daughter of Harry Harvey Arnold and Lottie Gertrude Williams Arnold at Lexington, Oklahoma. During her childhood she lived with her family at various locations in Oklahoma and Texas.

She graduated from Cox City High School.

On April 28, 1942 she was united in marriage with Eulan Leib McKenzie at Adrian, Michigan. As a World War II bride, she worked in the shipyards in San Francisco, California.

Following the war, E. L. started working on the pipeline from contact with his neighbor, Sid Woods, working for I.C. Little Company and later H. C. Price of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Most of Genevieve's married life was spent with the pipeline community, living in a trailer and adjusting to life in three to four cities each year.

In the 1960's Chickasha became home. Genevieve, Weedie, Nana, Aunt Genny, was a homemaker extraordinaire and sought to make life wonderful for the people around her no matter where she had to “hang her hat”.

She was a homemaker, gardener, cook, hostess and seamstress extraordinaire.

Life will not be the same without her touch. Genevieve loved her Lord and her family. She spent part of each day reading her Bible and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Chickasha.
