Bill B. “Pepaw” Garrett Obit

Bill B. “Pepaw” Garrett went to be with his long awaited Lord and Savior at the age of 78 yrs. on March 12, 2006 after a long fight with cancer. He was born to Jess and Cleo Garrett on November 4, 1927 in Chickasha, Ok. Bill loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. He also loved helping others and serving God as deacon in his church, Banner Baptist of Lindsay for 31 years. He served in the US Navy in 1945. Bill was a milk route salesman for years before going to work for the City of Lindsay where he retired as the Superintendent of the Golf Course after 15 years.

Bill is preceded in death by both parents, one brother Jim Garrett of Indiana, one sister Celesta Sanders of Texas and his first wife Dixie June (Kite) Garrett. His surviving siblings are Tyke Garrett and sister-in-law Millie of California, Lillie Garrett of Indiana, Earl “Buck” Garrett and sister-in-law Joan of Sulphur, Oklahoma, and many nieces and nephews.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 46 years Dorothy Garrett, and his family, a daughter Delores (Goodfellow) Trammel & husband Denny of Chickasha, a son Ed Garrett and wife Ellen of Skiatook, a son Bruce Goodfellow of Lindsay, a daughter Terry (Garrett) Pate and husband Larry of Lindsay, a son Troy Garrett and wife Candy of Minco, His grandkids as follows; Dorlisa and husband Jeff of Chickasha, Devilyn and husband Russell of Chickasha, Denise Trammell and wife of Chickasha, Bruce Goodfellow and wife of Chickasha, Sue Goodfellow, Kristi Preble and husband Stan of Skiatook, Kimberly Rosenow and husband Matt of Vera, Wade Garrett of Skiatook, Malisa McKenzie of Lindsay, Jandra Hahne and husband Chris of Edmond, Jessica Garrett of Moore, Dakota Garrett of Minco, along with 13 great-grandkids. Bill also left behind a host of friends and neighbors, Bill will forever have a legacy of putting God first in order to keep his family first.

Services for Bill are scheduled for March 15, 2006 at 2:00 pm at the Banner Baptist Church of Lindsay, Oklahoma. Interment will be at the Green Hill Cemetery.
