Funeral service for Ernest Eugene “Gene” Bright, 86 of Dibble was held at 10:00 A. M. Saturday, February 9,2013 at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Blanchard with interment following in the Dibble Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard.
Gene was born December 18, 1926 in Mulberry Arkansas and died February 6, 2013 at his home. He was the son of Ernest Wilson and Nita Ellen (Medlock) Bright.
He served in the United States Air Force during WW II and made his career as an oilfield mechanic. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. In his spare time , he enjoyed fishing and working in his vegetable garden and always had plenty of vegetables to share with his family and friends.
Preceding him in death was his parents and one brother Raymond Bright.
Surviving him are his wife Hettie Bright of Dibble; son Ron Bright and wife Tana of Blanchard ; daughter Susan Halstead and husband Jimmy of Oklahoma City; four step-children Sheila Newman of Miami, Justin Newman and wife Gloria of Washington state ,Tina Kochen and husband Brad of Colorado, and Carlis Newman and wife Susan of Pennsylvania ; nine grandchildren, twenty great grand children ,and two great-great grandchildren ; brother Richard Bright of Blanchard ;sisters Velta Hair and husband Charles of Okemah and Mary Rayburn and husband Ronnie of Grove and many other loved ones and friends.

Ernest Eugene “Gene” Bright, 86, of Dibble, died February 6, 2013 at his home. The son of Ernest Wilson and Nita Ellen (Medlock) Bright, he was born December 18, 1926 in Mulberry, Arkansas.
