Funeral service for Dhybon McGowan, 89, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 17, 2004, at the Bible Baptist Church.

Dhybon McGowan was born August 22, 1914, in Talihina, Oklahoma, the daughter of Tom and Elizabeth (McDaniel) Sims. and died February 14, 2004, in Chickasha.

Mrs. McGowan moved to Chickasha in 1958. She had lived in Oklahoma City for the last 13 years, moving back to Chickasha 30 days ago.

She worked in the dietary department for Grady Memorial Hospital from 1958 - 1966. She and Harlan H. Chambers were married, and he preceded her in death in 1982. She later married W. D. McGowen, and he preceded her in death in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Elizabeth Sims; one brother, Jim Sims; three grandchildren, Greg and Gerald Don Chambers and Tracy Lynn Chambers.

Survivors include her children, Grady and Vicky Chambers of Ninnekah, Jewel and Larry Frederick of Sallisaw, Wade and Marla Chambers of Oklahoma City, Jimmy and Anita Chambers of Oklahoma City; six sisters, Wilma Nugent, Tommie Sanders, Wanda Austin, Bonnie Robinson, Nellie Anderson, Verbaline Anderson; 20 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

Interment will be in the Dibble Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
