Peggy Sue Heltcel, age 79 of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away on February 15, 2020 in Guthrie.

She was born on September 6, 1940 in Portales, New Mexico to Curtis and Maudie Corley.

On September 15, 1956 Peggy married Billy Heltcel in McClain County, Oklahoma. Four years later they moved to Guthrie where they lived for the last 60 years.

Peggy loved children. She retired from Guthrie Public Schools. She worked at the Guthrie Junior High as an assistant in the special needs class. Peggy also taught Sunday school and played the piano at the Church of God of Prophecy where she was a member.


Peggy is survived by her husband Billy of the home, son Shane Heltcel of Guthrie, grandson Brandon Heltcel of Guthrie, sister Marie Corley of St. Joe, Texas and three great grandchildren, Isiah Heltcel, Skylar Heltcel, and Blakeley Heltcel.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Curtis and Maudie Corley, son Ray Heltcel, brother L.G. Corley, sisters Dessie Prince, Vonnie Rigsby and a niece Charlotte Start.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hayes Funeral Home Chapel. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 from 12:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 9:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.
