Wanda Fae Ballard was born to Ida Mae (McMahan) and James Aaron Mason on November 10, 1931 in Cole, Oklahoma.

She graduated from Dibble High School in 1949 and the O.U. School of Nursing in 1952 with a Register Nurse Degree. She was employed as a nurse for 44 years at several hospitals including Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City, Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha and W.C. Tenery Community Hospital in Waxahachie, Texas.

Wanda moved to Apache about 12 years ago and was a member of the Oak Street Church of Christ, Eastern Star, and Home and Community Education Club.

She enjoyed going to the Apache Senior Citizen Center, playing Skip-Bo, reading and quilting.

What she enjoyed most though was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Wanda passed away May 10, 2009 at 77 years of age.

Survivors include her son, Freddie Ballard of Chickasha; daughters, Susan Gee and her husband Doug, of Apache; Marcie Lee and her husband, Dennis, of Mustang; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brother, Ronnie Mason and his wife, Linda, of Oklahoma City; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Orville Lee.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the Eisenhour Chapel, Blanchard. Pastor Roy Young will officiate with interment in the Dibble Cemetery, Dibble, Oklahoma.

Arrangements made by Eisenhour Funeral Home, Blanchard, Oklahoma.

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Wanda's name.
