MARSOLF, VERNON MERLE "MERLE", 78, Army Veteran, farmer and retired machinist, passed away Wednesday, October 29 at Kansas Medical Center in Andover surrounded by his family.

He was born on September 8, 1936 to Charles and Virginia (Yates) Marsolf in Hutchinson, KS. He graduated high school and enlidted in the Army Reserves.

In November 1975 Merle married the love of his life Theresa Larman in Oklahoma. Merle was a self made farmer who had to teach himself how to farm and loved fishing.

Merle is survived by his wife Theresa of Ardmore; children Vernon (Lela), Mountain View, AR, Monty (Khymm), San Antonio, TX, Teresa (Glen), Andover, KS, Deanna (Scott), Andover, KS, Sandy (Paul&$41;, Ardmore, OK, Randy (Sherry), Ardmore, OK; siblings Virgil (Sylvia), Gail, Ted (Phyllis), Vivian (Rogers); many grandchildren, great grandchildren and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Virginia Marsolf; brother Jerry, sister Nancy and great grandchild Braylon.

Family will host a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30 at Heritage Funeral Home, 502 W. Central Ave., Andover, KS.

Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, October 31, also at Heritage Funeral Home. A funeral service and interment will take place at Byars Cemetery, Byars, OKlahoma with Pickard Funeral Home taking charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Merle's name are encouraged to the Alzheimer's Association, 1820 E. Douglas Ave. Wichita, KS 67214 of Folds of Glory, 5800 N. Patriot Dr., Owasso, OK 74055.
