DJ White, 93, of Blanchard, passed Friday, April 25, 2014, at his home. He was born on June 4, 1920 in Indianola, Oklahoma to Walter Alton and Ethel Grace (Dowling) White.

He grew up in Eufaula, Oklahoma and served in the United States Army during WWII from 1942-1945. He was a combat veteran of the Aleutian Islands Campaign. He married the love of his life, Dorma Lee Brady, on January 27, 1947 and to this union they had five children. He went to work at the Ammunition Depot in McAlester before moving to Blanchard in 1956. He worked as a warehouse supervisor for the FAA for many years before retiring in 1978. He was ordained as a Deacon at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on March 12, 1977. DJ was a member of First Baptist Church in Blanchard. He loved the Lord and his family and was also known to his family as Daddy, Grandpa and Papa D.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ethel White; five brothers; and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorma Lee White, of the home and their children Loretta and Andrew Wiles of Moore, Franklin and Diana White of Blanchard, Michael and Cindy White of Mustang, Connie and Jay Lovett of Blanchard, and Terrie and Kent McKinnon of Blanchard; eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one sister, Dorothy Duncan of Edmond.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, April 28, 2014, at First Baptist Church in Blanchard. Interment will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
