Ivan Paul Steinhour, Sr., 83, of Blanchard, died Sunday, August 2, 2020, at his home. The son of Forrest Fremont Steinhour and Maud Evelyn Steinhour, he was born March 4, 1937 in Galion, Ohio.

Ivan married Donna Jean Sulser on August 4, 1956 in Galion, Ohio. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1960 and was a member of the American Legion. He worked at various jobs throughout his life, but his most valuable job was his calling to the ministry as a pastor in the Baptist faith. Ivan pastored and started several churches in Ohio and Oklahoma. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, traveling, playing the guitar, and shopping for shoes. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Forrest Junior Steinhour; and two sisters, Helen Miller and Shirley Ann Shimp.

Ivan is survived by his wife of 64 years, Donna Steinhour, of Blanchard; two daughters, Debbie Kemerley and her husband, Brad, of Blanchard and Dana Aspell and Jerry Stouse of Blanchard; two sons, Ivan Paul Steinhour, Jr. of Blanchard and Keith Steinhour and his wife, Tracie, of Blanchard; thirteen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Encompass Home Health and Hospice for the excellent care that they provided.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 6, 2020, at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery.
