Lois J. Smith, 105, of Blanchard, passed from death to life eternal with Christ on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at her home.

The only child of Edwin Pearce Coy and Esther (Frost) Coy, she was born August 22, 1918, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She attended Oklahoma City public schools, namely Jefferson and Harding and graduated from Classen High School in 1936. She also studied at Oklahoma City University.

It was at Square Dance lessons that she met the love of her life, Wilbert G. Smith. They were united in marriage, at the Council Road Baptist Church, in 1968. They were married until Wilbert’s death on January 18, 2005. In 1979, the couple moved to Tubac, Arizona for their retirement years, to continue their hobby of rock collecting. They returned to Oklahoma in 1993 and settled in Blanchard.

Lois was a member of the Agape Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed rock collecting and reading.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; stepson, Robert B. Smith and his wife Cathy; and stepdaughter, Karen Thomson.

Survivors include stepson, Mat Smith; grandchildren, Kelly Kerr, Ashley Smith, Christi Lee Jack, Justin Bradley Jack, and Linley Faye Smith; three great-grandchildren; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 9, 2024, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be made to the Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital in Bethany or to the charity of your choice.
