Vernon Michael “Mike” Sluder, 61, of Blanchard, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 in Blanchard. The son of Vernon Dallas and and Leatrice June (Pendley) Sluder, he was born August 15, 1951 in Chickasha.

Mike was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blanchard. Mike enjoyed feeding the cows with his dad, listening to really loud music, dancing, and eating. In his youth, he did not let his disability keep him from doing what he wanted to do. He played basketball with family, rode his bike, rode horses, and did just about anything else Tim was doing at the time. Mike lived a great life and now we can rejoice that he is in Heaven rejoined with his mom and dad and no longer has any disabilities.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Mike is survived by his brother, Tim Sluder and his wife, Julie, of Blanchard; nieces and nephews, Darla Long of Blanchard, Chad Sluder of Blanchard, Nick Collins of Oklahoma City; and Katey Sluder of Blanchard; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 18, 2013, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard with Reverend Andy Finch officiating. Interment will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
